Title: Electrical Hardware Engineer

Location: Phoenix, AZ

The company specializes in the design, development, manufacturing, enhancement, and integration of engineered electronic components into display products for applications in industrial systems, consumer products, defense/aerospace, marine, gaming, medical electronics, security, and related markets. From easy to implement standard and semi-custom products to highly complex solutions for unique applications, this rapidly growing company supplies components, sub-assemblies, and complete integrated solutions for virtually any product need in its technology field. The successful candidate will join our team to develop and execute a marketing strategy, to improve lead generation, deliver a pleasing experience to customers in doing business with E3 Displays, and enhance E3 Display’s brand value in our target markets. The marketing efficiency of sales operations and customer service and contribute to enhancing customer satisfaction to enable sales growth.

Specific Responsibilities: 

  • – Designs and verifies product testing equipment and generates technical operating procedures to transfer to the production floor.
  • – Detail-oriented, self-motivated with the ability to multi-task, and perform duties in a dynamic and collaborative working environment.
  • – Hands-on approach, willing to insert themselves into the development and service of the product with active participation.
  • – Provide high-quality engineering solutions in both process development and mechanical/electrical assembly, and test fixture design to ensure timely and successful product manufacturing ramps.
  • – Conducts verification testing that may include performance characterization, environmental testing, EMI/RFI performance, optical measurement, etc.
  • –  Ensures product designs will meet or exceed customer-based performance requirements and expectations.
  • – Knowledgeable in costs of sourcing key design components and able to manage cost, lead time, supply variables.
  • – Works with QA Manager and key suppliers to ensure the quality of parts being designed and built into E3 products.
  • – Actively works with the operations team to ensure that product lines are optimized, able to solve and service problems on the production line when necessary.
  • – Able to operate with basic engineering equipment including solder irons, power suppliers, touch controllers, etc.
  • – Able to work with devices over I2C, SPI, and other hardware interface protocols.
  • – Experience in the design and operation of embedded/IoT-based hardware and software environments.
  • – Works with supplier FAEs to support customer-driven needs with hardware communication, OS drivers, tuning and optimization of devices, etc.
  • – Skilled in working in Windows, Android, Linux based OS structures.
  • – Ability and willingness to travel to project sites (typically <10%) and, when necessary, to work outside of standard office hours on short notice.

Required Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience

  • – Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related degree, five to seven years in an Electrical Engineering role.

Language Skills

  • – Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos in English. Must be able to construct sentences using proper spelling and grammar in order to update QMS documents and reports, create procedures and correspondence with customers verbally and with the use of email, text, and written documents.

Reasoning Ability

  • – Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills

  • – To perform this job successfully, an individual will need to understand and use Epicor effectively and correctly. This ERP can be taught at the time of hire. Prior experience with ERP bases systems is preferred.
  • Ability to operate and used Windows-based tools such as Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint to effectively capture critical information and communicate effectively.
