E3 Displays LLC is a privately owned small business located in Phoenix, AZ that provides design, integration, ruggedization and distribution services for embedded displays and electronics applications. We serve leading medical, military, aerospace & space, industrial and commercial equipment manufacturers with our industry leading solutions and services and are growing the front end of our organization to support our growth roadmap in North America, Europe and Asia. We work closely with partners, distributors and suppliers in Taiwan, China, Japan, South Korea, Europe and North America supporting our diverse customer base with their products ranging from touchscreen cockpit avionics to ventilator monitor and controls.

Position Overview

The Business Development Manager (BDM) is a responsible for the identification, targeting and capture of profitable new business working as part of a team led by the Director of Sales and Marketing. The BDM is responsible for generating new leads directly and through channel sales partners, as well as forming business relationships with key prospects and customers. The BDM will solicit RFIs/RFPs and lead cross-functional teams in the preparation and delivery of successful commercial proposals, at which point they will execute negotiated supply agreements supported by technical presales and operations teams.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new sales leads, coordinate proposal activities and lead negotiations through pursuit to capture and close major sales orders and contracts.
  • Engage with new and prospective customers to understand their requirements and qualify both the short- and long-term opportunities.
  • Manage and vet new channel sales partners including LCD OEMs.
  • Organize and conduct presentations of E3D’s value proposition, portfolio products, services and capabilities to current and prospective customers.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of external customer management and teams, for both technical and non-technical audiences, including customer executives specifically.
  • Support customer and market analysis activity for existing and new product development to better drive the product development and sales activities.
  • Advocate for customer expectations internally, with a solution-oriented mindset – collaborating with internal leadership, engineering, operations and supply chain teams for success.
  • Develop, build and maintain professional business relationships and networks within the assigned portfolio sector, creating strong, long-lasting corporate brand value.
  • Analyze markets, e.g., size, location, trends, etc. Understand category-specific landscapes and trends.
  • Contribute to brand awareness and lead generation via targeted outbound marketing
  • Develop a working knowledge of relevant industry partner and competitor activity.
  • Forecast revenue and gross profits with planning and communicate the impact of operational initiatives from a sales or marketing person’s perspective.
  • Organize, present, and participate in trade shows as required.
  • Maintain and analyze accurate multiyear sales forecast in the CRM including demand planning forecasts, opportunity pipeline activity and likelihood, and planned sales capture plans/activities.
  • Ensure reports and other internal intelligence and insight is provided to the Leadership.
  • Report on key KPIs related to the performance objectives
  • This position must be available for travel up to 50%.


  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline preferred and 7-10 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Strong business acumen demonstrated by profitable growth focused results history
  • Proven results successfully winning contracts $1-$10M+
  • Prior experience with and a solid understanding of government regulated procurement process for medical, oil & gas, aerospace & defense program vetting, proposal & capture process.
  • Robust understanding of engineering and manufacturing processes and terminology as it relates to project flow and technical SOWs. Adept at clearly communicating these processes to customers
  • Performs all business development activities and processes related to sales and contractual exchange of products and services with direct customers and channel partner organizations.
  • Experience leading cross functional teams including distributors and sales rep firms.
  • Proven track record in selling technical system and sub-system solutions.
  • Strong financial understanding and experience with program business cases, NPV etc.
